Rates and Fee Schedule - Effective July 1, 2019
The City bills for water, sewer and refuse services on a bimonthly basis. All charges are contained on one bill. Questions about your utility bills should be directed to the Utility Billing Clerk, at (734) 426-8303 x 12.
Utility Bill Direct Debit Authorization
Use this form to give the City authorization to automatically debit your bank account for payment of City utility bills.
Credit Card Payments
Individual accounts are password protected. Prior to accessing the on-line credit card system, you will need to contact the City at (734) 426-8303 for a permanent PIN to use as your password. There is a fee to use this service. Fees will be shown when you approve the transaction.
Pay By Phone
Residents may pay their utility bills by telephone at (888) 891-6064. Please have your account number and PIN number ready. These numbers are available on your utility bill.
Water Meters for Outside Use
The City bases their sewer charges on the amount of water used each month. To avoid paying sewer charges on water used for outside purposes, such as lawn watering and swimming pools, residents may purchase a second water meter. Contact the Utility Billing Clerk to arrange for this. The resident would then pick up the meter at the Water Treatment Plant to be plumbed and installed by the resident's licensed contractor. After installation, an inspection from Water Department personnel is required prior to service being started.
Tap fees are charged when a building is newly constructed or undergoes a change of use.
