November 3, 2020 Election Information - In Person Voting

Precincts will be open for in person voting on Election Day from 7 am to 8 pm. Precincts 1 and 3 are located at the Dexter Senior Center (7720 Ann Arbor St.). Precinct 2 is located at St. Andrews Church (7610 Ann Arbor St.). The State of Michigan, Washtenaw County and the City have purchased protective equipment for the polling locations. Masks, hand sanitizer and gloves will be made available to voters.

Visit to view a sample ballot, confirm that you are registered to vote and view your polling location.

If you requested an absentee ballot and have decided to vote in-person at your polling location, please help to avoid delays at the polls by bringing the absentee ballot to the City Office during the hours listed below and asking to spoil the ballot. If you are unable to do this, the ballot can be surrendered to the poll workers on Election Day, however they will need to perform several steps before a new ballot can be issued.

November 3, 2020 Election Information - Absentee Voting

We strongly suggest requesting an application in person (if possible) as soon as possible if you are interested in voting absentee.

If you have mailed in your absentee ballot, you can check to see that your ballot has been received by our office by visiting - When the ballot is marked as received it means the signature has been reviewed and the ballot is ready for processing on election day.

Absentee ballots are available at the City Clerk's Office (8123 Main, 2nd floor) the following dates and times:

  • Monday through Friday - 9 am to 5 pm until 5 pm on Friday, October 30th
  • Saturday, October 31st from 9 am - 5 pm
  • Monday, November 2nd from 9 am - 4 pm (Ballot must be voted at the City Office)

It is against State of Michigan election law for the Clerk to give an absentee ballot over the counter to someone other than the person whose name is on the ballot.

Ballot return options:

  • Place it into the drop box located next to the door of the Sheriff's Substation at 8140 Main or the drop box outside the front door of the City Offices (PNC Bank) at 8123 Main - both boxes are accessible 24/7.
  • From 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday (and Saturday, October 31st) ballots can be brought to the City Office.
  • Send in via mail, however postal delays can occur which could lead to the ballot not being received by 8 pm on Election Day.
  • On Election Day, absentee ballots must be returned directly to the City Office (including the drop box) between the hours of 7 am and 8 pm.
