REAL ID Compliance

The Secretary of State’s Office has asked communities to assist in alerting the public about Real ID-compliant documents. Beginning October 1, 2020, residents will need to present a REAL ID-compliant document to fly in the U.S. and enter certain federal facilities under federal law. Residents can learn more about obtaining a REAL-ID compliant Driver’s License or State ID at www.Michigan.gov/REALID. Valid U.S. passports and DHS Trusted Traveler Cards may also be REAL ID compliant. Questions should be directed to local Secretary of State branch offices.
